All About AEDs For Sale

First Aid Defibrillator

If you are just like me, you probably wondered what the AED is in AEDs for sale. After all, it’s not something that you hear about every day. However, when you search for it on Google, you will see that the sum of what AEDs for sale are can be found in these two words: saving lives.

This is because AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator. What does a defibrillator do? It monitors a patient’s heartbeat and jumpstarts it if the heart stops beating. All hospitals have their own defibrillators on standby. And rescue teams also have it too.

There are basically two types of AEDs for sale: the portable and non-portable. Between the two, there are many different brands and models. In fact, there are too many of them, you can get confused on which one to buy. However, you can narrow down your choices by taking into consideration certain factors.

The first factor you need to consider is whether or not you are going to buy brand new or second hand. We really do not need to tell you but defibrillators cost money, and portables can cost upwards of $500 while those at the hospitals can cost anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000, even more. Again, the actual price depends on the make and model.

If you do decide to buy second-hand, make sure to buy a refurbished one. Refurbished products differ from second-hand ones in that they have been reconditioned to look and function like brand new. If you just buy second hand directly from the previous owner, there is a great chance you will also inherit some unfavorable parts.

Once you have decided on whether you are going to buy brand new or refurbished, it’s time to decide on the brand and model. For this, you will need to do research because there are so many choices out there. There’s Phillips and then there’s Cardio Science, among others. If you want to know which one you should buy, consider visiting different retailer websites like eBay and Amazon and narrow the results based on their star ratings.

You should only consider defibrillators that have a star rating of four stars and above based on several ratings, not just one or two. The ones mentioned on The Doula Marin Health Site do meet this criteria. Once you have narrowed down your choices to the four-star and above products, take a look at the specs. This is very important and you should not skip this step.

Take a look at the voltage and the features. There are features out there that have voice controls and can be used on children and other frail patients. If you are constantly working in an emergency situation, you will definitely want to use something that has voice control-operated features or at the very least is intuitive and easy to operate when you are called on to save someone. Voltage is also important as you will want to have enough power to jump start the heart but not overwhelm it at the same time.
